While Strides for Peace currently has a full roster of Community Partners that we work with throughout the year, the Race Against Gun Violence offers an opportunity to invite other non-profit organizations, who are aligned with our mission to be part of Chicago’s largest athletic event devoted to reducing gun violence, to become a Community Affiliate. Eligible organizations can use the Race Against Gun Violence to fundraise, engage staff and volunteers, and build awareness about their work. It also provides a special opportunity to connect with other like-minded people and organizations, building camaraderie and possibly new opportunities for collaboration.
To be considered eligible, organizations must:
– Have 501(c)(3) status
– Be based in Chicago and in good standing
– Have a mission that is directly or indirectly involved in reducing gun-violence including: mentoring, sports and recreation, arts, education, job and career preparation, cognitive-behavioral therapy and community development.

In addition, Strides for Peace periodically partners with and with promising new initiatives and community-based projects that bring value to Chicago and the communities most impacted by gun violence.
