Marc Maye

Marc Maye is an educator, mentor, author, and community leader dedicated to empowering young people through education, sports, mentorship, and leadership development. Raised in Compton, California, Marc witnessed many peers fall victim to gang involvement and street life, but credits his support system, church youth programs, sports, and the guidance of his grandfather for helping him stay on a positive path.

Marc graduated from Compton Dominguez High School in 2001 before attending California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH), where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology in 2006. He later earned his Master’s Degree in Education and California Teaching Credentials from Mount St. Mary’s College in 2012. Marc is currently a full-time doctoral student at Marymount University pursuing a Doctorate Degree in Educational Leadership and Organizational Innovation.

Marc serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Project Blue, an organization focused on creating safer communities by strengthening relationships between law enforcement and communities through youth programming, mentorship, education, and community engagement. He is also the Founder of the 4wrdProgress Youth Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to teaching life skills and character development through sports.

In addition, Marc serves at his alma mater, CSUDH, as a faculty member in the Kinesiology Department, Internship Coordinator, and Intramural Director within the College of Health, Human Services & Nursing. He is also the author of From Sports to Life! Using Sports to Build Character, Not Characters, which highlights the power of mentorship, coaching, and life skills development through sports.

Through his work, Marc remains committed to helping young people maximize their potential, discover purpose, and create positive change within their communities.
