Larry Miller
Chairman, Jordan Brand Advisory Board and Founder, JUMP
Larry Miller is Chairman of the Jordan Brand Advisory Board at Nike, Inc., and a widely respected business leader known for building innovative, culturally influential brands in sports and lifestyle. Over a career spanning global consumer brands and professional sports, Miller has helped shape the modern landscape of premium athletic footwear and apparel. He served as President of Jordan Brand twice, including rejoining the brand in 2012, overseeing the global operations of the multi-billion-dollar business while working closely with Nike leadership and Michael Jordan to drive worldwide growth.
Earlier in his Nike career, Miller served as Vice President of U.S. Apparel and later as Vice President and General Manager of Nike Basketball, where he led strategy across Jordan Brand, Nike Basketball, and Converse. From 2007 to 2012, Miller served as President and Alternate Governor of the NBA’s Portland Trail Blazers, overseeing both business and basketball operations. During his tenure, the team reached three consecutive postseasons, sold out 159 straight games, and earned recognition for sustainability when the Rose Garden arena became the first U.S. sports venue to achieve LEED Gold certification.
Before Nike, Miller held leadership roles at Jantzen, Kraft General Foods, Campbell Soup, and Philadelphia Newspapers. A passionate advocate for education and mentorship, Miller serves on several civic boards in Portland. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Temple University and an MBA from LaSalle University.
In 2022, he published his memoir, JUMP: My Secret Journey from the Streets to the Boardroom, co-authored with his daughter Laila Lacy, recounting his journey from West Philadelphia to the heights of corporate leadership. In 2025, he founded JUMP- the Justice & Upward Mobility Project, with a mission to harness the cultural influence of sports, business, and entertainment to reshape narratives and unlock access to education, employment, and economic mobility for youth and adults impacted by the justice system.
