Pastor Corey B. Brooks is the founder and CEO of Project H.O.O.D. (Helping Others Obtain Destiny) and the Senior Pastor of New Beginnings Church of Chicago, leading a powerful, unified movement that brings faith and action together to transform lives and rebuild communities.

Known nationally as the “Rooftop Pastor,” he captured attention through extended rooftop vigils that exposed the realities of gun violence and ignited a movement of hope, ownership, and lasting change. For decades, Pastor Brooks has stood on the frontlines of one of Chicago’s most challenged neighborhoods, helping drive a remarkable transformation—reducing violence, restoring dignity, and creating real pathways to opportunity where they once seemed impossible.

Through the combined mission of New Beginnings Church and Project H.O.O.D., he has built a results-driven model that meets both spiritual and practical needs—raising up leaders, strengthening families, and equipping individuals through workforce development, youth programming, entrepreneurship, and faith-based outreach.

He is currently leading the development of the $50 million Robert R. McCormick Leadership & Economic Opportunity Center, a game-changing hub designed to deliver training, mentorship, and economic opportunity for generations to come.
