Born and raised in Alaska, Juliana brings a strong sense of community, adventure, and supportive empathy to the Strides for Peace team. Her passion for justice, storytelling, and ending gun violence began in high school, where she grieved alongside her fellow students at the loss of several peers to drug- and gang-related gun violence.
Juliana moved to Chicago in 2021, after graduating with her Bachelor of Arts degrees in Religion and International Relations. Prior to joining Strides for Peace, Juliana worked as a Paralegal in a family law office, supporting families seeking adoptive services, and as a research fellow with her university, designing curriculum for interfaith dialogue to facilitate understanding across differences of culture and worldview. She currently also serves as Co-President of the Events Committee on the Junior Board for Children’s Place.
In her role as Partnerships & Events Manager, Juliana provides administrative, programmatic, and outreach support for Strides for Peace. She strongly believes in amplifying the voices and stories of marginalized communities, and in the power of collective dedication in ending gun violence.
